Daniel Klinkenberg
Managing Director

Daniel established Urban Homes with his wife Bronwyn in 2004. Daniel is a trade qualified licensed carpenter who now uses his extensive building knowledge to manage the business and provide sales and design support. He also occasionally visits our building sites to provide quality assurance support for our project managers. In addition to being passionate about delivering an exceptional home, Daniel is committed to making sure your build process will be stress free, fun and enjoyable.

Craig Geer
Sales Manager

Craig has over 16 years’ experience in the new home design and build industry. He takes pride in being able to work alongside homeowners to understand their wish lists and concept ideas. This creates a collaborative team where Craig shares his design and product knowledge combined with expert advice. Craig has a passion for enabling clients to make the very best decisions when planning their new home design, and thoroughly enjoys seeing their ideas turned into dream homes.

Lynn Power
Personal Assistant to Daniel Klinkenberg & Craig Geer

Lynn’s role is to support Daniel and Craig allowing them to focus on managing the business and supporting our clients. Lynn has worked in similar roles, mostly at a corporate level, and has always had a strong interest in the building industry having built three homes, most recently with Urban Homes in 2015. Lynn can, therefore, relate to our clients as they go through their build process, and supports Craig with enquiries, supplier visits and administration support.

Mike Lobb
Sales Consultant

Although reasonably new to the building industry, Mike has already enjoyed selling a wide range of houses in the Waikato, from first homes through to luxury dream homes. His extensive sales experience includes selling luxury horse coaches in New Zealand and Australia and 25 years in the liquor industry working in sales management roles for Lion Nathan, DB Breweries and Pernod Ricard Wines & Spirits. Mike is married to Alyssa and they have two daughters. Outside work Mike is a champion equestrian eventer, who competes to the top level for New Zealand. He also keeps busy snow skiing, running, mountain biking, water sports and coaching his daughters hockey team.

Having designed and built many of her own homes, Olivia has the ability to understand individual client requirements and guide them through a design and build experience that they would gladly repeat.

Her background in the industry, whilst primarily sales, has seen her wear many hats including planning, colour consultancy and project management.
With a passion to deliver a customer service that exceeds expectations, she loves nothing more than seeing people achieve their dream home.

Paula Smith

Paula’s primary role is to support our sales team so they can focus on delivering the very best possible service to our clients. Paula has held administration support roles in a variety of industries. She especially enjoys working in sales and marketing teams where she can liaise with clients and be a part of a diverse range of projects. Paula’s’ duties include contract documentation, scheduling appointments and responding to any customer queries. If for any reason your sales consultants cannot be reached, Paula will be happy to help.

John Bowen

John’s passion for interior design has been energised by over 30 years in the travel industry where he got to experience room decor in over 100 countries. John introduced home staging to the Waikato in 2004. This led to the design and building of the Titoki Boutique Accommodation five star bed and breakfast for discerning international guests visiting our area. John successfully operated Titoki for seven years before joining the Urban Homes team. John’s interests include travel, design, food, people, and life in general.

Joanna Chalmers
Architectural Designer

Joanna (Jo) is a Design 2 Licensed Building Practitioner, with over 17 years’ experience in the residential building industry in Hamilton. She is responsible for the Design and Building Consent process at Urban Homes. Jo works alongside the entire Urban team to ensure every project runs smoothly, from design to the issuing of consents. A perfectionist at heart, Jo treats every project with the care and respect she would give her own home.

Caroline Peacocke
Architectural Technician

Caroline gained her BSc (Honours) from the University of Otago and is now completing her studies in Architectural Technology in the Waikato. Her role is to assist Joanna and the team with the house design and building consent process. Attention to detail, in-depth research and sustainable building practices are important factors for Caroline, and having recently built with Urban Homes she understands the design and build processes from a client’s point of view.

Iben Young
Quantity Surveyor

Iben is our number’s man. Iben has been specialising as a design and build quantity surveyor for residential construction for the past 10 years. He comes from a plumbing merchant background and has a post graduate diploma in business management from the University of Waikato. As Urban’s head quantity surveyor, Iben understands exactly what products are required to enable our construction team to produce the very best result on site. Iben also helps Alison manage the variation process.

Deepak Sharma

Deepak has recently completed his diploma in Quantity Surveying and is keen to establish a dynamic career in the building industry. As one of Urban’s quantity surveyor’s, Deepak works alongside Iben assisting with the whole estimation process and helps Alison manage pre-contract variations. Deepak has a good technical acumen and knows exactly what materials and quantities are required for a job.

Alison Durning
Operations Manager

Alison helps ensure construction runs smoothly and on time by managing all of the post contract selections and variations. She works with Paula Smith to make sure the final decisions are all locked in, and ready for our construction team. Alison also provides price options for specific selections when requested and works closely with Iben to process these quickly. This will allow you to make informed decisions about your final home selections well before we require them. Before joining Urban, Alison spent 13 years in the concrete industry working for Firth.

Paula is the friendly face behind the front desk. She manages all our accounts and works with Paula Smith to keep our office running smoothly. Paula sends out all of our invoices and is happy to assist you with any admin related queries during your build.

Lisa Stephenson

Lisa comes from an executive administration background, most recently as administrator in the International Office at Cambridge High School. Lisa joined Urban Homes to assist Paula Musty with the processing of accounts, paying wages and various other administration duties to assist the team.

Darryn takes pride in his commitment to great communication, quality and integrity, and will treat your new home build as his very own masterpiece.

Taylor Scott

Taylor is a trade qualified builder who is passionate about the quality of workmanship being exceeded in all areas. He has been with Urban for over four years and is responsible for managing a team of builders. Taylor also works closely with our project managers to ensure build timeframes are met. Outside work, Taylor is a surf lifeguard and helps manage the Raglan Surf Club. He also enjoys playing music and the great outdoors.

Allan Swan (Swanee)

With over 38 years in supervisory roles including health and safety, Swanee has a wealth of knowledge when it comes to anything that requires handy work or maintenance. He is responsible for a wide variety of jobs including the installation of site signs, on-site health and safety, remedial work and site cleanliness. Swanee describes himself as `old school’ and is proud of his ‘can do’ attitude. If a job needs doing, Swanee will happily do what it takes to get it done.

Kelvin Shaw

Kelvin was introduced to the building industry as a 17 year old electrical apprentice. It wasn’t long before the lure of technology took him into the dairy industry with it’s automation and control systems. A desk job eventually became Kelvin’s reality, so he is pleased to be back on the tools again, especially working with a team of dedicated professionals committed to producing a high quality finish on every job.
