Process

The process is made easy with Urban Homes

At Urban Homes, we ensure the building process is as smooth and easy as possible, without skipping any important details. Our approach process provides a stress-free building journey, while delivering the highest levels of craftsmanship in the industry.

  • Site appraisal

    Urban Homes offers free, no-obligation site appraisals and initial design discussions to help you make smart building decisions. Whether you are looking at buying a section, subdividing a property, or building on a site you already own in the Waikato, Coromandel and South Auckland regions, a site appraisal is an important first step in the building process.

  • Design

    If you have a wish list of features you’d like included in your dream home, our experienced architectural designers can incorporate these into your customised design. Your new home consultant will guide you through our state-of-the-art design centre, StudioU. Packed full of building materials, surface options and design selections, StudioU takes design inspiration to the next level.

    Your preliminary designs will be drawn to suit your budget and lifestyle – and we do this at a fraction of the design cost you would usually pay.

  • Concepts

    Concept drawings and 3D model

    Your concept drawings and interactive 3D model will enable you to see exactly what your home will look like once it’s completed, before we’ve even started the build. At our design centre, StudioU, we can walk you through the design process helping you to visualise your dreams and turn them into reality. With this approach you get to experience the WOW factor of an Urban build right from the very beginning.

    Make use of the latest technology as we allow you to view your designs in both virtual reality and augmented reality.

  • Quote

    Quote

    Once the preliminary design is completed, we will begin construction costing and provide you with a full, fixed-price quotation summary. This will detail exactly what is included and excluded in the price. Plans and Council consents will be included in the quote, unless specified otherwise. There is no cost for this quote.

  • Contract

    Contract

    Once you have accepted the quotation, we will draw up a Registered Master Builders full build contract and complete a Registered Master Builders guarantee application. Once you have signed the contract agreement, a contract deposit will be invoiced to you. Once your deposit is paid, your New Home Consultant will confirm the start date for your construction drawings with you.

  • Consent

    Consent

    Construction drawings and plans will be completed and submitted to Council for building consent. If required, we will also organise an engineer to carry out any structural, drainage or geo-tech reports required by Council.

  • Construction

    Construction

    Once plans and buildings consents have been approved by Council, your Project Manager will run you through your build schedule and together, we will begin to construct your dream home!

  • move in

    Time to move in!

    We will hand over the keys to your beautiful new Urban home once we have reached practical completion and the Code of Compliance has been issued. All that’s left to do is move in.

Urban Homes supports True Colours

At Urban Homes, we believe in giving back to our community. We are extremely proud to be working alongside children’s charity, True Colours. With each new home we build, a donation is made to this incredible organization who help support seriously ill children and their families.

In June 2022, a team-building build-a-bike exercise saw 14 Urban teams build 14 beautiful bikes all of which were gifted to True Colours. “It was something my team and I really enjoyed being involved with and a great way to see the direct impact our partnership makes,” says Founder and Managing Director, Daniel Klinkenberg.

Seeing the joy on the children’s faces says it all.
