Intermediate Architectural Technician

Urban Homes is Hamilton’s most awarded ‘Registered Master Builder’. We love building relationships as much as we love building beautiful houses.

Due to an increase in business we wish to appoint another Architectural Technician. You will need to have at least 2-3 years NZ experience in producing residential Building Consent drawings.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Producing high quality Building Consent drawings and full council documentation from Concept Drawings
  • Working with Sales and Estimating teams to ensure Consent Documentation is aligned to client specifications and contract
  • Liaising with framing manufacturing and structural engineers to complete Consent Drawings and work through necessary follow ups until Building Consent is issued
  • Assist with producing Concept Drawings when and if required.

Essential to this role will be strong attention to detail and a high level of accuracy. Strong residential construction knowledge will be a must,  competent skills in ArchiCAD and a good knowledge of NZBC, NZ Standards and Acceptable Solutions.  Being a Licensed Registered Building Practitioner would be an advantage or the desire to become one.

Project Manager

Main Purpose: To provide the trade skills, knowledge, experience and competency to effectively manage Urban Homes projects. This means monitoring budgets, schedules, compliance and most importantly the level of craftsmanship and finish that goes into every home you are involved with.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

GENERAL

  • Be an active member of the Urban Homes construction team.
  • Managing Urban Homes builds from the time they start on site to completion using our Buildertrend project management system.
  • Maintaining the highest level of quality possible.
  • Scheduling of all sites and builders.
  • Client liaison. Clients are to be kept up to date at all times. As communication is one of our core values we expect this to be a main focus of the service you provide to our customers. To deliver WOW through service is to deliver amazing communication.
  • Dealing with technical matters and any other problems on site.
  • Sub contractor scheduling to ensure all subbies and suppliers are kept well informed of all jobs on the go. All bookings made well in advance to minimize delays. Buildertrend schedules kept up to date and accurate at all times.
  • Variation management.
  • Compliance managed throughout the build. For example making sure all engineering inspections and council inspections are followed through and relevant documentation is provided verifying these inspections.
  • Manage code of compliance for all homes you manage.
  • UQS on site checklist inspections and documentation.
  • Adhere to Company policies and procedures at all times.
  • Carry out all tasks/operations in a tradesman like manner at all times
  • Maintain and respect personal, Company, and Client equipment, property and plant.

HEALTH & SAFETY

  • Be responsible for own safety
  • Be aware of the safety requirements of others
  • Comply with all Company safety requirements and procedures
  • Advise of any safety concerns

OPERATIONS

  • Actively participate within the project team to meet each specific project’s quality and time requirements.
  • Participate in improvements that enhance product quality within the time envelope and optimise the labour and material resources required.
  • Utilise trade skills, knowledge and experience to complete the works adequately the first time to eliminate any rework requirements.

New Home Consultant

Hamilton

At Urban Homes, taking ownership is key.  We’re looking for humble, hungry and smart New Home Sales Consultants with experience in the NZ residential market, to join the team at Urban Homes.

Urban Homes specialise in building quality new homes and are the Waikato’s most awarded Master Builder.  We treat every project as our very own masterpiece.

As a New Home Consultant, you will be amongst a team of like-minded experts in their field who are extremely busy and focused on providing our client’s with an exceptional journey through the building process of their new home.  You will find this role to be extremely varied and rewarding.

You will need to be passionate about the building industry, building beautiful, quality homes is in our DNA.  You will be able to demonstrate high performance sales ability and a hunger to strive to be the best at what you do.  You need to be a quick learner and top achievers will have a desire to take on this role as if it’s your own business.  Previous new home sales experience is preferred but not essential as full training will be given to the successful applicant.  Draughting experience would be an advantage.

We want someone who is smart. Not just process smart, but people smart. Your EQ will be on par with your IQ. You will be focused, driven, and a high achiever. You’ll have excellent communication skills with the ability to build strong relationships with clients, conducting yourself in a friendly, professional manner.

This role requires a lot of flexibility in terms of hours, however, it is expected on average that the Consultant would work a minimum of 40 hours per week including rostered weekends at our showhomes.
