If COVID-19 has taught us anything it is the value of people. At Urban Homes, we genuinely value our people. We know that Urban would not be the business it is today without the hard work, commitment, and support that our team has given us. During lockdown, our team proved this again and our people responded.
Thankfully, we were flexible enough to still operate. Our remote working capabilities meant our office-based staff could offer the same high-quality service as normal.
At Level 4, shortly after lockdown, while we couldn’t build outside, we welcomed you to build inside with our Build-a-Fort Competition which saw huge engagement from bubbles around the Waikato, Waipa, Coromandel and even further afield. Staggeringly, more than 1 million people saw our competition, one-fifth of the population! Thank you to everyone who took time out of their busy ISO schedules to join in the Urban Homes Build a Fort Competition.
We loved seeing what you constructed, the creativity and uniqueness in each of your projects. Finally, congratulations to the Rooney Family, well deserved winners.
Our Urban judges commented that “right from the get-go, Beauden and Corban went above and beyond with their construction and unique design perspective.”
Urban Brand Ambassador Sam Cane also followed the entire Build a Fort journey and congratulated our winners on Facebook, much to the surprise of Fort Head of Construction Beauden Rooney.
Speaking of Sam, hot on the heels of completing his dream home he was appointed as the All Blacks captain. From all of us here at Urban Homes, congratulations on your new role Sam! We can’t wait to see you take the field.
Now at Alert Level 1 things are starting to get back to a “new normal” but our people remain at the heart of our operation, many of whom will soon be looking forward to moving into our new Head Office in Hamilton.
